Department of Animal Physiology & Veterinary Biochemistry were established as independent department in 1988 at Azad Campus, North Lakhimpur. Both the departments were merged into a single entity and same as department of VPB as per MSVE guidelines 2016.
The department imparts basic physiology and biochemistry subject to undergraduate students of B.V.Sc& A.H. The department offers specialization in molecular biology, animal physiology, veterinary biochemistry, clinical biochemistry and diagnostic, endocrinology, environmental physiology, reproductive physiology.
The department has laboratory facilities for haematology, biochemical analysis, hormone assay, reproductive physiology. It is well equipped with some state of art facilities like thermo-cycler, UV-vis spectrophotometry, gel documentation, ELISA, incubator, urine analyser, physiology graph, Thermal Cycler, Western bloting apparatus, Gel Documentation syste etc.
