  • # Recipient of ICAR Junior Research Fellowship for pursuing M. Sc. (Agri) in Horticulture during 1986 to 1988 and # Recipient of CSIR (New Delhi) Senior research Fellowship for pursuing Ph. D. in Horticulture during 1992 to 1995
  • Teaching activities:
    # Conducted UG courses (Hort-113, Hort-223 of 4th Deans’ Committee syllabus up to 2015-16, Hort-112, Hort-112(i), THT-212 of 5th Deans’ Committee syllabus from 2016-17) as Course Leader, # Conducted PG courses (FSC-501, FSC-502, FSC-503, FSC-504, FSC-505 and FSC-506) as Course Leader since 2011-12. # Prepared 6 (six) Practical Manual for Hort-113 (in 2012), Hort-223 (in 2014), ELP (Nursery management of Horticultural crops in 2015), Hort-312 (in 2015), Hort-112 (in 2018) and Hort-122 (in 2019). # Guided 16 (sixteen) M.   • Research activities:
    # Successfully completed 4 (four) ad-hoc projects as Co-PI/Co-CCPI. #Developed technology in weed management in coconut nursery using 50 micron thick black polythene sheet and screened banana cultivars suitable (Kachkal) for cultivation as intercrop in coconut plantation and published in Package of Practices for Horticultural Crops of Assam. # Under NATP (Jaivigyan) project, 20,000 (twenty thousand) numbers of good quality areca nut var. Kahikuchi Local seedlings were produced and distributed to tribal and backward people of Rani, Kamrup; and good quality black pepper (var. Panniyur-1 and Karimunda) rooted cuttings of 30,000 (thirty thousand) numbers were raised through ‘Rapid Multiplication method' and supplied to the Directorate of Agriculture, Govt. of Assam, # Involved in production of quality planting materials of fruit crops as Lead Scientist under Technology Mission project in Horticulture.
  • Extension activities:
    # Success story: Trained and guided one youth (Mr. Jalaluddin Ahmed) of Goalpara district, Assam to become an Entrepreneur in nursery business. Mr. Ahmed established one nursery named as ‘Sundarbon Nursery’ in 2004 at Dhupdhora, Goalpara. The nursery was recognized and rated as 2 (two) star (out of 5 star) nursery for production of quality planting materials of litchi and Assam Lemon by the National Horticultural Board, Gurgaon in 2014. This is the first rated private nursery by NHB in Assam.

    # Prepared 4 (four) Training manual under Technology Mission Project in Horticulture and 5 (five) extension bulletin. # Organized 30 (thirty) training programme as Course Director/Programme Coordinator in LBV and NBP zones of Assam. # Lecture delivered in 140 (one hundred & forty) training programme as Resource Person organized by Govt. organizations, KVKs, NGOs of Assam. # Conducted a total of 7 (seven) numbers of FLD under NATP, Jaivigyan (3 nos.), Technology Mission (3 nos.) and KVK, Kamrup (1 no.) in seven different villages of Kamrup district. # Published 12 (eleven) popular articles related to Horticultural crops in souvenir published by organizations on different occasions, 3 (three) newspaper articles in daily Assamese newspaper (Aamar Asom, Dainik Janambhumi and monthly 'Ghare-Pothare'). # Participated in 3 (three) numbers of radio talk broadcasted by AIR, Guwahati, 3 (three) numbers of TV talks including 1 (one) live Phone in programme telecasted by DDK, Guwahati. # Participated in 4 (four) numbers of Farmers-scientist interaction programme organized by KVK (Kamrup), DDK (Guwahati) and NGO (Lakhimpur). # Participated as an Expert in live telecast of 'Agricultural Crop Seminar' on 7th February, 2015 organised by Programme Executive, DDK, Guwahati at FMTTI campus, Biswanath Chariali.
  • Institution building activities:
    # Conducted academic activities of both UG and PG programme as In-charge, Academic Cell from 24th March, 2017 to 31st December, 2020. # Nominated as a Member of Anti-Ragging Committee, BNCA. # Involved in production of quality planting materials of fruit crops (Assam Lemon, litchi, guava, mango) from 2021 funded by NAHEP, AAU, Jorhat # Involved in establishment of a block of unexploited, indigenous and minor fruits in the orchard of Department of Horticulture, Biswanath College of Agriculture by collecting planting materials from different places of Assam since 2013-14 and a total of 22 (twenty two) species have already been collected and planted. # Involved in establishing a Progeny block of mango (Amrapali, Dashehari), guava (Allahabad Safeda, L-49 and Lalit) and litchi (Late Bedana) in the orchard of Department of Horticulture, Biswanath College of Agriculture funded by the Directorate of Horticulture & Food Processing, Govt. of Assam under MIDH in 2014-15 for quality planting material generation. # Involved in establishing a HDP orchard of guava in 2017 with 5 (five) varieties - Allahabad Safeda, L-49, Lalit, RCGH-1 and RCGH-4. #Involved in planting of 60 (sixty) plants of three low chilling required Peach varieties namely, Flordasum, TA-170 (Partap) and Shan-e-Punjab in 2017 at the orchard of the department. # Associated with establishment of a block of 108 numbers of Jackfruit plants in 2004 at Horticultural Research Station, AAU, Kahikuchi under AICRP (agroforestry). # Supervised the RAWEP activities of students for 2 (two) semesters as Programme Superviser at Horticultural Research Station, Kahikuchi in 1997 and at Biswanath College of Agriculture in 2011. # Nominated as a Member of Sports and Technical Committee (Atheletcs) to organise the 15th All India Inter Agricultural University Sports & Games Meet held at AAU, Jorhat from 24th to 28th March, 2014. # Involved as Professor In-charge (Major Games) continuously for 5 (five) years from 2009-10 to 2013-14. # Involved as Professor In-charge, College Magazine (Shymalinda) in 2016-17. # Selected as Member of Selection Committee for engagement of semi-skilled workers for hostels. # Participated as External Examiner of both UG and PG programme of College of Horticulture and Forestry, CAU, Pasighat continuously from 2008 to 2018. #Performed duties as External Examiner of M. Sc (Agri) and Ph. D. programme of Department of Horticulture, Sikkim University, Gangtok, Sikkim in 2015 and of Department of Horticulture, North Eastern Hill University, Tura Campus, Meghalaya in 2016. # Participated as an Expert Member of Selection Committee for the post of Marketing and Recovery Officer of State Bank of India, Regional Office of North Eastern Circle, Dispur, Guwahati in 2006. # Participated as Member of Selection Committee for the post of Technical Assistant of Regional Station of ICAR-CRRI, Gerua, Kamrup in 2007. #Associated as In-charge of study tours of UG and PG Students in 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2019. # Associated as a Member of the team for surveying banana market at Darrangiri in Goalpara district (Assam) in 2003 and prepared a report related to cultivation practices of banana in the adjoining areas of Darrangiri, varieties of banana, annual transaction in banana business, places to export of banana from Darrangiri, mode of transportation and marketing channels of banana
  • Peer recognition:
    # Organized a day long District level workshop on “Scientific Cultivation Technology of Coconut and Value Addition” as Organized Secretary at Biswanath College of Agriculture, AAU, Biswanath Chariali sponsored by Coconut Development Board, Guwahati on 25th March, 2019 for the farmers of Biswanath district. # Involved as Programme Coordinator for conducting one week Faculty Development Programme on ‘Behavioral Remodelling and Use of ICT Tools for Classroom Delivery of Teachers’ where a total of 30 (thirty) faculty from Biswanath College of Agriculture (Biswanath Chariali), Biswanath College (Biswanath Chariali), Darrang College (Tezpur), Tyagbir Hem Baruah College (Jamuguri) and Dakshingaon College (Beltola, Guwahati) participated from 29th October to 3rd November, 2019. The training programme was sponsored by E&ICT Academy, IIT, Guwahati. # Evaluated 2 (two) M. Sc. (Agri) and 2 (two) Ph. D. theses of College of Horticulture, CAU, Pasighat (Arunachal Pradesh) and Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Kalyani (West Bengal). # Invited by the Vice-Chancellor, Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Kalyani, West Bengal in 2014 and 2015 as an Expert member of Selection Committee for Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor. # Nominated as the Member, Academic Council, AAU for two years from October, 2013 to September, 2015. # Delivered Keynote lecture on 'Post harvest practices in spices in North Eastern Region' at National Seminar on Spices under MIDH organized by Spice Board, Cochin from 25-26th October, 2015 at Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh). # Prepared DPR on 'Processing of pineapple & ginger and drying of Naga chilli' with a total cost of 87.92 lakh in 2006 for M/S Nagaland Agro Forest Produce Marketing Pvt. Ltd., Ngwalwa, Peren, Nagaland.
