The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying was established since the inception of Biswanath College of Agriculture, AAU, Biswanath Chariali. This department is offering one under-graduate course (AHD-313). This course is compulsory for the B.Sc. (Agri.) students. The department has two faculty members. The department has few instructional farms viz. Instructional Dairy Farm, Instructional Goat Farm, Instructional Pig Farm, Instructional Fodder unit, Instructional Poultry Farm etc. The instructional farm units are utilized primarily for conducting the practical classes for UG students. The farm units also generate a handsome amount of revenues for the University. The department has also been conducting several training programmes on scientific livestock and poultry farming for farmers, rural youths, farmwomen etc.
