Achievements
  • I specialize in Post Harvest Horticulture and Food Technology, focusing on improving the postharvest lifespan of fruits and vegetables, utilizing beneficial microbes for food production, exploring natural food colorants, and studying probiotics. I have overseen the research projects of 39 Master's and 4 Ph.D. students. Since 2004, I have actively participated in implementing the Horticulture Mission for North East and Himalayan States, a Government of India initiative, across various AAU stations. As the Programme Coordinator from 2010 to 2014, I played a key role in leading and successfully achieving the project's objectives. Additionally, I secured a research project through the Competitive Grants Programme of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, where I extensively evaluated indigenous plant sources for their potential in producing natural food colorings. I also served as Co-Principal Investigator in several other research projects. Since its establishment in 1998, I have been associated with the Agricultural Knowledge Management & Information Technology (AKMIT) Cell. This affiliation involves overseeing aspects of the official website, internet infrastructure, server management, and program development within the AAU. Collaborating closely with AKMIT Cell programmers, I have conceptualized and implemented various systems, including the Online Admission System, Student Counselling Platform, Academic Management System, Online Recruitment Mechanism, Research Progress Report, Online Payment System, AAU Cloud, Online Grievance System, and Integrated University Management System (IUMS).
