POST GRADUATE STUDIES

Introduction

Directorate of Post-Graduate Studies was established as per the Act and Statutes of Assam Agricultural University Act,1968 vide clause 27.(1). As per provision of the Act, Director of Post-Graduate Studies, AAU is the Statutory Officer for supervision of duties and objectives of the department. The Directorate started functioning at AAU, Khanapara w.e.f. 11.02.1980 and Dr. P.K. Sharma was appointed as the first Director of Post-Graduate Studies. Later on, the Directorate is shifted to AAU Jorhat campus during October,1985. With the main Directorate at Jorhat campus, the directorate has an office at College of Veterinary Science, Khanapara, Guwahati.

The Aims & Objectives

• To co-ordinate post-graduate studies in all Colleges, Departments and Section of the University.
• To effect general co-ordination of post-graduate Thesis/Research programme with the on-going programme of the University Research services.
• To supervise maintenance of records pertaining to PG course, instruction and students.
